Storms hit parts of Poland, Czech Republic
Bratislava, 2 July 2022 (dpa/MIA) - Violent storms and hail caused damage in parts of Poland and the Czech Republic overnight. In the Polish region of Pomerania seven people were injured, including two firefighters, the PAP news agency reported. On a country road in the Chojnice district, a tree fell on a car carrying five people, including two children. Fire brigades had to respond to some 3,700 incidents across the country in the 24 hours up until Saturday morning. Most of them involved fallen trees, damaged house roofs, as well as two fires caused by lightning. Some 125,000 households were temporarily without power in Poland and 1,200 in the Czech Republic, the respective fire brigades told the CTK news agency.
