SSO: Issues in census app removed
Skopje, 6 September 2021 (MIA) – The State Statistical Office (SSO) says the census process earlier on Monday faced isolated issues which have been successfully removed, adding that the issues weren’t due to the Internet crashing, but probably the service being overwhelmed by a larger number of sessions at once. During the technical issues almost 10,000 persons were counted.
“In brief periods and in certain locations the census app didn’t work and some census takers weren’t able to carry out their job. Technical teams worked intensively to remove the problem and the process continued to run smoothly shortly after. We’d like to emphasize that the issue was not due to the Internet connection, but these are possible and common issues as a result of a number of parallel sessions,” SSO said in a press release.
According to the press release, in the two to three hours during the technical difficulties, almost 10,000 people were counted on the entire territory of the country.
The State Statistical Office apologizes for the poorly given statement earlier on Monday that the issues were due to the Internet crashing, and issues a public apology to Makedonski Telekom AD for the “unfortunate statement” made due to lack of accurate information.
