Skopje, 9 January 2023 (MIA) – A family of 4 needed MKD 51,235 (EUR 830) in December to satisfy the needs of the minimum consumers’ basket.

According to the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of North Macedonia (SSM), in December, a family of 4 needed MKD 19,226.11 for food and drinks, MKD 13,093.22 for housing, MKD 3,050.95 for hygiene and MKD 3,668.81 for transport. Additional costs include MKD 2,255.15 for clothes and shoes, 1,067.86 for culture and 801.29 for healthcare.

“In total, this amounts to MKD 43,163.17 for the minimum consumers’ basket, and adjusting for the 18.7% inflation, the number is raises up to MKD 51,234.68,” said the SSM. dk/ba/
