Skopje, 15 March 2023 (MIA) — An exhibition of oil-on-canvas and oil-on-panel paintings by Vangel Srnakov will open at the Cultural Information Center.

Titled "Looking Through..," the exhibit will include portraits, landscapes, and still lifes blending realism and hyperrealism.

In the paintings, using a predominantly cold color palette, Srnakov examines ways of seeing through various transparent materials such as plastic, foil, and glass.

The self-taught artist sends an environmental message by drawing attention to plastic pollution while at the same time creating art that "radiates peace, harmony and beauty," according to art historian and curator Aleksandar Karakabakov.

Srnakov's paintings will be on display through March 29. mr/
