Speaker Gashi signs cooperation memorandum with International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace

Skopje, 20 November 2025 (MIA) - Parliament Speaker, Afrim Gashi, and President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between North Macedonia's Parliament and the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP). 

The memorandum is an important institutional framework aimed at deepening international parliamentary cooperation in the areas of tolerance, peace and democratic dialogue, regular participation of the Parliament in the IPTP's sessions, committees and initiatives, continuous exchange of information on the activities, documents and parliamentary projects of the organization, as well as coordination of opportunities in implementing joint events, conferences and projects of common interest, the Parliament said in a press release. 

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace (GCTP) was established in 2017 in Malta, based on a diplomatic agreement with the Maltese Government which grants the organization a status of an independent organization and provides it with diplomatic immunities and privileges. 

"This Memorandum is an important step in promoting the Parliament's role in the international arena and a significant contribution in promoting the values ​​of dialogue, mutual respect and global peace," reads the press release.
