Skopje, 1 January 2024 (MIA) - New Year's Eve was generally calm and security was stable across the country, said Minister of Interior Oliver Spasovski on Monday.

"Twelve crimes were recorded across the country, mostly related to drug trafficking, along with 20 public order violations, two traffic violations and eight traffic accidents," Minister Spasovski told reporters.

According to him, the number of traffic accidents is the lowest on record.

"There are more reports in Skopje and Tetovo considering the size of the population, but in general, security was absolutely favorable during the whole night," said Spasovski.

The MoI extended New Year's greetings to the citizens, wishing them health, joy with their loved ones and progress for the country.
