SpaceX capsule with four astronauts returns to Earth

Washington, 10 August 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Four astronauts returned to Earth on Saturday after spending about five months aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Their capsule parachuted down into the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California, live footage from NASA showed.

The Dragon capsule, built by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk's company SpaceX, undocked from the space outpost on Friday for a nearly 18-hour journey home.

Crew 10, consisting of NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, had been aboard the station since March, orbiting about 400 kilometres above Earth.

Earlier in August, their replacements arrived: NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Michael Fincke, JAXA astronaut Kimiya Yui and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov.
