Sorrentino's The Hand of God to open Manaki Brothers Film Festival in Bitola 
Skopje, 8 August 2022 (MIA) - "The Hand of God" by Italian filmmaker Paolo Sorrentino will open the 43rd Manaki Brothers International Cinematographers' Film Festival on August 19 in Bitola, which will close on August 26 with the screening of "Snow White Dies at the End", written and directed by Macedonian filmmaker Kristijan Risteski, which was released earlier this year. The festival, which will showcase features, short films, documentaries and student films, is to take place in three venues in Bitola, namely the Culture Center, Manaki Movie Theater and the Officers' House. All preconditions for an excellent festival edition have been met, festival director Simeon Moni Damevski told Monday's news conference in Skopje. Fourteen movies will be shown as part of the main program, announced the program's selector Slagjan Penev, including this year's Palme d'Or winner Triangle of Sadness, this year's Golden Bear winner Alcarràs, Drive My Car, the Japanese film released in 2021 that won the Academy Award for Best International Feature Film earlier this year, in addition to "The Hand of God". "Two Macedonian films will be screened at the festival, namely 'Snow White Dies at the End', a Macedonia-Cyprus co-production, which premiered at Slamdance Festival in the United States.
