Songs by three Macedonian artists shortlisted for Milan Mladenovic Award
Skopje, 11 July 2022 (MIA) - Three songs from North Macedonia are shortlisted for the Milan Mladenovic 2022 Award after a total of 219 songs from the whole region that met the conditions were taken into consideration. In addition to the three songs by Macedonian artists, 45 pieces of music were admitted into the semifinal.
The three songs include Afrodisia by Jovche Pandev, Begame (We're running away) by Dani Dimitrovska and Pijan Slavej and Doma (Home) by Dina Jashari. It is Jashari's second time to be shortlisted, said Croatia Records.
The jury, made up of Mile Kekin (Croatia), Sonja Lonchar (Serbia), Matjaz Manchek (Slovenia), Edo Plovanic (Croatia) and Dragisha Uskokovic (Serbia), will pick 12 finalists. They will be revealed in early August and their songs will be released in a promotional compilation of the Milan Mladenovic Foundation.
Established in 2019, the Milan Mladenovic Award aims at stimulating music creativity characterized by the values promoted by Mladenovic's music legacy. The recognition is awarded to the best song by an artist from the territory of former Yugoslavia at a ceremony on September 21, the birthday of the leader of the cult band Ekaterina Velika.
Previous recipients include Artan Lili, Dram and Ана & The Changes.
The winner will receive a Milan Mladenovic Foundation figurine and 3,000-euro monetary prize.
