Skopje to host IFESD-14 on Oct. 28-30

Skopje, 21 October 2025 (MIA) - "From Goals to Action: Powering the Future with Sustainable Energy" is the theme of the Fourteenth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development (IFESD-14), which will be held in Skopje from 28 to 30 October, 2025. The forum is hosted by the Ministry of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the five United Nations Regional Commissions (UNECE, UNECA, UNECLAC, UNESCAP and UNESCWA).

The Ministry announced on Tuesday that IFESD-14 will bring together more than 600 participants from 70 countries, including representatives from governments, international organizations, business community, international financial institutions, commercial banks, academia, civil society, and experts.

UNDP Resident Representative Armen Grigoryan and Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska told Tuesday's press briefing that IFESD-14 will provide a comprehensive perspective on the global energy transition by sharing national and regional strategies to accelerate clean energy deployment, showcasing innovative technologies and solutions from international organizations, the private sector and academia. It will also present financing mechanisms and partnerships, and ensure inclusive participation by youth, women and civil society.

"We worked on the organization of the event for a year. The forum is very important. We convene over 150 experts who will be panellists at 35 sessions. The forum will be concluded with a joint declaration," said Minister Bozhinovska.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources Sanja Bozhinovska and UNECE Executive Secretary Tatiana Molcean will deliver opening remarks at the event.

IFESD-14 in Skopje will build on the achievements of the Thirteenth Forum, held in Bangkok in 2024, in order to provide a platform for concrete actions and policies that will accelerate a just and inclusive energy transition.
