Skopje museum to present Rodoljub Anastasov exhibit

Skopje, 3 July 2023 (MIA) — An exhibition of recent works by renowned Macedonian painter Rodoljub Anastasov will open at the Museum of the City of Skopje.
The art show, titled "Visions: A Head Full of People," consists of portraits painted between 2016 and 2022.
"This outstanding portrait artist has produced more than 200 portraits from his vault," organizers say.
Rodoljub Anastasov (b. 1935, Skopje) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1962. Between 1963 and 1965, he was a political prisoner at Goli Otok. After his return to Skopje, he made a significant contribution to the development of new figurative art in Macedonia.
He has participated in hundreds of group exhibitions and has had more than three dozen solo exhibitions. From 1980 until his retirement, he taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje. In 2011, Anastasov donated his 389 works of art to the Museum of the City of Skopje. mr/
