Skopje, 17 June 2023 (MIA) — Under the slogan "The Stories Behind the Music," the ninth Skopje Cinema City music documentary festival kicks off at the Cinematheque at 7 pm with a group exhibition of photos taken at concerts and music festivals over the past 20 years.

According to organizers, the photo show is titled "5x10" and presents ten works each by five prominent Macedonian photographers: Maja Argakijeva, Ognen Acevski, Robert Atanasovski, Zdenko Petrovski and Stefan Rajhl.

The exhibition opening will be followed by a screening of Daniel Geller and Dayna Goldfine's "Hallelujah: Leonard Cohen, A Journey, A Song" (2022).

On June 18, the festival will screen the MRTV-produced documentary on Leb i sol, "Kao kakao: The Taste of Success" (2023) and Thorsten Schütte's "Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words" (2016).

The Skopje Cinema City 2023 award for lifetime achievement in film music will go to composer Dzhijan Emin.

Skopje Cinema City is organized by Nomad Art Skopje with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Karpos, and the Cinematheque. mr/
