Simon Trpcheski to give concert in Romania

Skopje, 16 January 2025 (MIA) — Macedonian pianist Simon Trpcheski is starting his 2025 European tour featuring music from the album "Makedonissimo" (Linn Records, 2020) with a concert in Timișoara, Romania, on Jan. 17.
The concert will be led by conductor Radu Popa. Trpchevski will perform with the Makedonissimo Quintet, including Vladimir Krstev on violin, Aleksandar Somov on cello, Hidan Mamudov on clarinet, saxophone and kaval, and Vlatko Nushev on drums. They will be accompanied by the Banatul Philharmonic of Timișoara.
The concert program features the "Makedonissimo" album of Macedonian folk music arrangements by composer Pande Shahov as well as works by Dmitri Shostakovich and George Gershwin.
In February, Trpcheski will give a solo concert in Novi Sad with the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra conducted by Gabriel Bebeșelea. He will also perform in Baltimore, Maryland, USA, and Stuttgart, Germany. mr/
