Skopje, 11 July 2026 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova attended Saturday the closing ceremony of the sixth Ohrid High-Tech Excellence Camp, held under her patronage and organized by Macedonia2025.

As stated by the President’s Office, she assessed that such initiatives not only contribute to acquiring advanced knowledge and skills in robotics, programming, engineering and innovation, but also prepare young people to become active participants in shaping the future rather than passive observers of change.

She stressed that it is especially important for young people to develop critical thinking, create innovative solutions and use modern technologies as a means of advancing society, promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life.

Siljanovska-Davkova underscored that talent should be identified, supported, stimulated and rewarded, while young people should inspire those around them with their love of knowledge and science.

Recalling the story of the robot Proteus, which turned against its creator, she emphasized that humanity must approach new technologies responsibly and wisely, ensuring that they remain tools serving people rather than a reason for losing the human element.

The participants shared their experiences from the camp, highlighting that the program enabled them to gain new knowledge and skills, work on innovative projects and build friendships with peers from different countries.

They presented the projects they had developed during the camp, after which the President, in her capacity as patron, awarded them certificates for successfully completing the program.

This year, the camp brought together 24 young participants aged 11 to 15 from the Macedonian diaspora in the United States, Malta, Serbia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany as well as from several cities across the country.
