Delchevo, 20 April 2024 (MIA) — VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition's presidential candidate Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova told an election rally on Saturday evening that it was an honor to be in Delchevo, the city of Goce Delchev, who she said was a Bulgarian for the current President, MIA's Delchevo correspondent reports.
She urged all citizens of Delchevo, regardless of party affiliation, to go to the polls, saying that the votes of the undecided citizens were important at this time.
Speaking about her six opponents in the presidential race, Siljanovska-Davkova said there was a "spectrum of primitivism and irresponsibility, ignorance and disregard for national and state interests" as well as "narcissism in some candidates [...] causing divisions and discord."
She said everyone should be sanctioned, regardless of what high post they held or were holding. The Constitution and laws, she said, needed to apply to everyone. She also criticized the Judicial Council, calling it "a scandalous institution that does not guarantee an independent judiciary but a partisan judiciary."
Siljanovska-Davkova previously spoke at a rally in Berovo, where she said "the Sultanate of Macedonia" was led by people who had privatized the country.
"Have you ever heard of a prime minister, even a caretaker prime minister, celebrating his birthday with his family in the government building? Folks, not only have they privatized the state but they have also made palaces out of state institutions, with their grandchildren, family inside. This is why I say that they are acting like Roman consuls.
"Can you believe what Mr. Artan Grubi is doing? He is giving away the ministry, the building, to Sultan Ali Ahmeti so he can meet diplomats there, celebrate birthdays, and even sing to himself. Is this what you call a state?" Siljanovska-Davkova said.
According to her, the most important challenge for everyone was the merciless battle with corruption and crime.
VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski and Third Electoral District MP candidate list head Dragan Kovachki also spoke at the Delchevo, Berovo, and Pehchevo rallies. mr/
