Siljanovska-Davkova meets Spanish Ambassador, UN and UNDP representatives ahead of Seville conference
- President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Thursday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Rafael Soriano Ortiz, the UN Resident Coordinator, Rita Colombia, and the UNDP representative in Skopje, Armen Grigoryan, ahead of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which will be held under the auspices of the UN in Seville, Spain, where Siljanovska-Davkova will participate.

Skopje, 12 June 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Thursday with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain, Rafael Soriano Ortiz, the UN Resident Coordinator, Rita Colombia, and the UNDP representative in Skopje, Armen Grigoryan, ahead of the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development (FfD4), which will be held under the auspices of the UN in Seville, Spain, where Siljanovska-Davkova will participate.
At the meeting, the President was briefed on the goals, expectations, and significance of the conference. The Seville conference was assessed as a good opportunity to find solutions for financial challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference, which is expected to host over 50 heads of state and government, aims to produce an Action Platform with concrete initiatives and financial commitments
Siljanovska-Davkova stressed that without adequate financial resources, the 2030 Agenda cannot be realized. She highlighted the need to reform the international financial architecture, supporting developing countries, and ensuring greater financial accessibility. The President also underscored the importance of multilateral and regional cooperation.
According to the President’s Office, the UN representatives at the meeting praised the country’s commitment to the 2030 Agenda, as well as the integration of SDGs into national strategies and local development plans.
The President voiced readiness to further expand bilateral relations with Spain and continue excellent cooperation with UN institutions. She welcomed the UN team’s efforts in developing the 2026-2030 Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, as a strategic document aligned with national development priorities and international human rights obligations.
