Skopje, 24 May 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova extended her greetings on the occasion of the Day of the Slavic Educators, Ss. Cyril and Methodius, urging to preserve their memory and, through their works, strengthen the commitment to building a society based on knowledge, mutual respect, and dignity.
“This day is a powerful reminder of the lasting value of their mission, a value deeply rooted in culture, knowledge, and spiritual unity. Ss. Cyril and Methodius not only gave us the Glagolitic alphabet, but with it built a strong pan-Slavic cultural and civilizational foundation that continues to support our identity to this day. Through their dedication and vision, they paved the way for literacy and learning in our own language, a gift that has empowered many generations and preserved our voice through the centuries. May this day inspire us to continue to take pride in our cultural and spiritual heritage, to protect and enrich it, and to pass on to future generations the source of knowledge given to us by our ancestors, and to them, Saints Cyril and Methodius - always pure, always steadfast, eternally alive,” says Siljanovska-Davkova in her message.
