Skopje, 6 October 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova addressed Monday the annual leaders’ meeting of the Brdo-Brijuni Process held in Durrës, Albania.
“Pointing to the unsustainability of the prolonged wait of the Western Balkans at the gates of Brussels, due to the urgent need for EU enlargement with all European countries to strengthen its role and increase its resilience to influence from third parties, Siljanovska-Davkova stressed it is cynical and hypocritical to ask someone to be resistant to influences from third parties while leaving them outside the doors of the European Union,” the President’s Office said in a press release.
The President also highlighted the fact that this year’s Declaration at the Brdo-Brijuni Process was adopted by consensus among the leaders of the participating countries.

Siljanovska-Davkova underscored that cooperation is essential for addressing shared problems such as the exodus of young people, the danger of stagnating economies, and security challenges.
“I believe in goodwill, I believe in good intentions, I believe in the commitment of Croatia and Slovenia to the process and their special responsibility toward the region and its accelerated progress toward the EU,” Siljanovska-Davkova concluded.
Croatia and Slovenia are the initiators of the Brdo-Brijuni Process. Besides North Macedonia, the process also includes Montenegro, Serbia, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo.
The presidents of the participating states meet at least once every year. The next meeting is expected to be held in Croatia.
