Skopje, 9 December 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Labor and Social Policy Jagoda Shahpaska met Thursday with Liliane Tanguy, member of the French National Assembly and French Ambassador Cyrille Baumgartner, discussing countries’ policies in preventing and protecting violence against women and domestic violence, and support for persons with disabilities. Minister Shahpaska said the new law on prevention and protection from violence against women and domestic violence incorporates the Istanbul Convention principles and ensures a systematic approach in the protection of women and children from violence, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy said in a press release. MP Tanguy said laws and policies in both countries share similarities while expressing satisfaction from North Macedonia’s efforts in the social field. Shahpaska said French experience in the field is of enormous importance for North Macedonia, reads the press release.
