Several Skopje and Kumanovo schools receive bomb threats

Skopje, 15 December 2022 (MIA) – Several primary schools in Skopje and Kumanovo received bomb threats via email on Thursday morning, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) told MIA.  

According to MoI, the Skopje police and the Kumanovo police received reports of bomb threats in Skopje and Kumanovo schools.  

“Immediately after the reports were received, police officers took measures to safely evacuate the schools. Anti-terror checks are underway and measures are being taken to clear up the case,” said MoI.  

“Aleksandar Makedonski”, “Lazo Angelovski” and “Gjorgjija Pulevski” primary schools in Skopje’s Aerodrom Municipality, as well as “Kiro Gligorov” primary school in Centar Municipality are among the schools that have received bomb threats, MIA has learned.  

“Brakja Miladinovci” primary school in Kumanovo also received bomb threat on Thursday morning, the school’s authorities and the Parents’ Council confirmed.  

“Kumanovo police teams are on the ground, and the students and teachers have been safely evacuated,” the school director Jasmina Spasovska told MIA. 

In addition to primary and secondary schools, institutions and shopping malls were also the target of anonymous bomb threats at the beginning of the week.
