Several publishers and writers form Macedonian Literary Center

Skopje, 3 April 2024 (MIA) — Following the turmoil and discord in the Macedonian Writers Association in recent years, several writers and publishers have founded a new association of Macedonian writers.

The new association was named Macedonian Literary Center and its founders are the publishers Nenad Stevovikj and Svetlana Kochovska Stevovikj as well as authors Vladimir Jankovski, Ivan Shopov and Nikolina Andova Shopova.

According to a press release from the founders, Jankovski was named president of the new association. Membership is free and members include "prominent writers of Macedonian literature."

The association's website, the release says, can be found at http://literarycentre.mk. They also have an active Facebook page and a YouTube channel, "explaining through short videos some of the basic aspects of literature and its reception." mr/
