Serbs leaving Kosovo institutions
Prishtina, 5 November 2022 (MIA) — Srpska lista, the largest party of the Kosovo Serbs, has decided to withdraw its members from Kosovo's institutions, MIA’s Prishtina correspondent reports.
Party leader Goran Rakic, who was the only Serb in Albin Kurti's government, has resigned from his post as Minister of Communities and Return.
After Saturday’s party leadership meeting held in Zvechane in northern Kosovo, Rakic announced that Serbs would withdraw from all state institutions.
He said they would leave their posts in the government, Parliament, the four municipalities the party has mayors in, the Kosovo administration, the judiciary, and the police.
The announcement follows the dismissal of Nenad Djuric, the Kosovo Police Regional Directorate North chief who refused to implement the government's decision to change the license plates issued by Serbia with Republic of Kosovo-issued ones. mr/
