Serbia reports record-high number of new COVID-19 cases
Zagreb, 28 September 2021 (Hina/MIA) - Forty-five people have died of COVID-19-related complications in Serbia in the past 24 hours, and of the 26,292 tests done in that period, 8,467 have returned positive, which is a record high number of infections in a single day since the start of the fourth wave of the pandemic. The number of hospitalised patients has increased to 6,155, including 251 on ventilators, the Serbian Ministry of Health said on Tuesday. Since the start of the epidemic on 6 March 2020, 5,601,570 samples have been tested and 926,269 cases of the infection have been confirmed. A total of 8,142 people have died. Since the start of the epidemic Serbia had the highest number of infections in a single day on 30 March 2021 - 9,983.
