SEC: Voting in penitentiary institutions running smoothly

Skopje, 23 April 2024 (MIA) - Voting for the presidential elections in 14 penitentiary institutions across the country is running smoothly, said the State Election Commission (SEC) on Tuesday.
All 14 polling stations opened at 7 a.m. and the voting will run through 7 p.m., where 2,147 persons can exercise their voting right. The process is running smoothly until now, the SEC said in a press release.
In addition, 2,569 registered voters can exercise their right in 31 polling stations within diplomatic-consular offices worldwide.
The infirm, inmates, persons in retirement homes and diaspora are also voting today, as are people in institutions for out-of-family care and internally displaced persons.
A total of 1,814,317 citizens are eligible to vote at the April 24 presidential elections.
The SEC has accredited 342 domestic observers, 517 international observers, 51 interpreters and 32 foreign journalists.
