Skopje, 8 May 2024 (MIA) - Based on data from 2040 polling stations, 452.412 or 42.32 percent of 1.069.021 voters registered in the 2040 polling stations turned out to vote in the second round of the presidential elections by 5 pm, the President of the State Election Commission (SEC), Aleksandar Dashtevski, said at a press conference.

According to Dashtevski, Novaci registered the highest turnout at the presidential elections by 5 pm with 66.47 percent, while Lipkovo had the lowest turnout with 6.48 percent.

Regarding the parliamentary elections, based on data from 1920 polling stations, 470.950 citizens, i.e., 46.93 percent of 1.003.459 voters registered in these polling stations turned out to vote by 5 pm.

Krivogashtani registered the highest turnout at the parliamentary elections by 5 pm with 79.73, while Mavrovo and Rostushe had the lowest turnout with 22.93 percent.

Based on the processed data, turnout in the first election district is 53.22 percent; 41.83 percent in the second; 51.49 percent in the third; 48.49 percent in the fourth; 47.45 percent in the fifth, and 34.71 percent in the sixth electoral district.

"So far, the SEC has received 450 complaints about people's voting rights. Of these, 228 complaints have been approved and voters were enabled to exercise their right to vote, 22 complaints have been found inadmissible, and 67 complaints have been rejected. The remaining complaints are being processed," the SEC President said.  

Dashtevski reminded that 1.303 domestic observers and 860 international observers are monitoring the election day, as well as 83 foreign journalists.  

He added that members of the public may ask questions or report irregularities to the SEC by calling the 0800 555 44 toll-free phone number. Those with hearing and speech impairments can make a video call to the SEC at 076 488 360.
