SEC draws ballot order of candidates for October’s local elections 

Skopje, 24 September 2025 (MIA) - The State Election Commission (SEC) determined the ballot order of candidates for the upcoming local elections in a three-part draw on Wednesday.  

Candidates from the parliamentary political parties and coalitions were drawn in the first draw, parties and coalitions that are not represented in Parliament were drawn second, and independents were drawn in the final part of the draw.

When it comes to the parliamentary parties and coalitions “Experience for Success” will be listed first on the ballot, followed by the ZNAM Movement in second, the Democratic Party of the Serbs in Macedonia will be third on the ballot, the DUI-led National Alliance for Integration (NAI-DUI) will be fourth, SDSM’s coalition will be fifth, Levica will be sixth, VLEN will be seventh, “For a Green Future” coalition will be eighth, while VMRO-DPMNE's “Your Macedonia” coalition will be ninth on the ballot.

Candidates proposed by a coalition led by the same political party, regardless of the number of parties in the coalition across different municipalities, will have the same ballot number in all municipalities, according to the State Election Commission. The SEC added that municipal election commissions had previously confirmed the candidate lists at a session, including candidates for municipal councils, members of the council of the City of Skopje, mayors of municipalities, and the mayor of the City of Skopje.

The second part of the draw determined the ballot order of candidates of political parties that are not represented in Parliament: Bosniak Democratic Union – 18, VMRO People’s Party – 21, Movement for National Unity of the Turks – 23, Democrats Skopje – 29, Democratic Party of the Roma – 10, Democratic Party of the Turks in Macedonia – 14, Democratic Forces of the Roma – 24, Democratic Union – 19, United Macedonia – 12, MAAK – 28, Makedonska Era Treta/Macedonian independent lists/sovereignists – 32, Party for the Movement of Turks in Macedonia – 15, Party for United Democratis of Macedonia PODEM – 26, Pensioners’ Party – 13, Civil Initiative GRIN – 25, The Right – 31, Macedonian Concept – 22, Workers’ Party – 20, Rodina Makedonija – 30, Roma Union – 11, Serbian Party in Macedonia – 16, TVOJA Party – 27, Permanent Macedonian Radical Unification – 33, Union of Romas – 17.  

The final part of the draw determined the order of independent candidates for mayors and municipal council members, starting from number 34 on the ballot up to 153.
