Kiev, 21 March 2024 (dpa/MIA) – The Ukrainian capital Kiev was bombarded by several waves of missiles overnight on Wednesday, injuring 10 people, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said on Thursday.

Klitschko wrote on Telegram two people had been hospitalized, while others were treated by medics on the scene.

Rocket parts had fallen in several neighbourhoods, with buildings and cars on fire, he wrote.

Explosions from anti-aircraft missiles could be heard in the city centre of Kiev, a dpa correspondent reported.

According to the Ukrainian army, the Russian military's strategic air force was deployed again from the Caspian Sea after an interruption of several weeks.

According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia also deployed "Kinschal" (Dagger) hypersonic missiles, which are difficult to intercept.
