In a press release, the Government said the goal of the summit is to strengthen global cooperation on improving education, technology, and children’s wellbeing in the digital era. The initiative promotes the establishment of partnerships between countries and the private sector, the development of innovative educational curricula, and the use of advanced technologies, such as artificial intelligence, to assist the youth, the Government said.

Mickoska addressed the “Safety and Protection Online” working session of the summit, noting that the country believes digital literacy must being at an earlier stage of the educational process.
“Our goal is for young people to not only use technology, but also to understand it, to think critically about it, and to use it to solve problems in the real world. A key step in this direction is a 21st century school curriculum, implemented in partnership with international organizations and the private sector. Today, 341 primary schools and almost 1.900 teachers in our country are a part of this initiative,” Mickoska said.

After the working sessions, participants attended a Tech Expo where the biggest global companies working on advanced technologies presented some of their products.

The summit represents the official launching of a global coalition aimed at helping children gain the necessary skills for the future.
