Bucharest, 5 October 2021 (Agerpres/MIA) — Romania's President Klaus Iohannis announced on Tuesday that he will call parliamentary parties and formations for consultations next week, in the aftermath of the no-confidence vote initiated by the Social Democratic Party (PSD) toppling the Citu government, which cleared Parliament the same day.
"The current situation requires a solution. We have to find a solution, Romania has to be governed. The pandemic, the electricity price crisis, winter is coming, all this must be solved by someone.
"That someone is the Romanian government. So there is a need for solutions and it is time for mature decisions; there is a need for mature decisions from politicians, from political parties In order to give political parties time to meet in their internal forums, to find mature approaches and to come up with them at consultations.
"I will call the political parties for consultations only next week. Now maturity and responsibility are required,' Iohannis said at the Cotroceni Presidential Palace.
