Road condition report

Road condition report

Skopje, 22 August 2025 (MIA) - The Auto-Moto Association of Macedonia (AMSM) said the R1106 regional road between Makedonski Brod and Skopje remains closed to all traffic due to ongoing fire at the Jasen National Park.

Dry roads are reported nationwide, with increased traffic outside urban areas. Due to the summer holidays, traffic is increased at border crossings. People entering the country via the Tabanovce border crossing can expect to wait up to 20 minutes, and around 40 minutes for exiting the country. No major delays are reported at the other border crossings on the Macedonian side, either for entry or exit.

Due to construction works on the “Gradsko – Drenovo Interchange” road section, part of Corridor 10d, a temporary change in traffic regime will be introduced on the A1 Expressway, Gradsko – Drenovo section. According to the AMSM, the changes will be in effect from August 4 to September 16, 2025, and traffic will be redirected and regulated with proper traffic signage.

As of July 1, heavy vehicles exceeding 15 tons are subject to restrictions on all state roads during weekends and extremely hot days through August 31 to mitigate summer traffic congestion.

In addition, a ban on heavy vehicles exceeding 7.5 tons is in place during weekends and holidays on the A2 highway section between Skopje and Ohrid through September 1.

Landslides are possible along the routes of Katlanovo – Veles, Mavrovo – Debar – Struga, Vinica – Berovo and Kochani – Delchevo.

Motorists are advised to drive carefully, adjust their speed to weather conditions and follow traffic rules, signs and signals.
