RNM stands ready to help Bulgaria after deadly floods, says Radev after phone call with Siljanovska Davkova

Sofia, 5 October 2025 (MIA) - The Republic of North Macedonia (RNM) is ready to provide support in dealing with the aftermath of the floods, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev announced in a post on X on Saturday, following a phone conversation with his counterpart Gordana Siljanovska, Bulgaria's news agency BTA reported.

“I thank President Gordana Siljanovska for the constructive phone conversation and for the condolences expressed for the victims of the floods in Bulgaria, as well as for the stated readiness to assist in managing the consequences of the disaster,” the Bulgarian president wrote.

Heavy rains and flooding on Friday affected several regions of the country, leaving parts of the population without electricity and limiting access to the hardest-hit areas. The floods have claimed four lives. Emergency and recovery efforts are ongoing, with volunteers, social service teams and military personnel working to clear roads, ensure public safety, and restore normal life, BTA reported.
