Christmas

The name Christ is translation from the Jewish Messiah, which means the Son of God. He was promised to the people even in the days of Adam. Many Jewish prophets announced his arrival and he was expected by many. The prophets foresaw the time when he would be born as well as the place – Bethlehem. In that small town in Judea, today’s Israel, Jesus Christ was born and he was fulfillment of the prophecies. He gave to the mankind the power to defeat the sin and the death. That is why we call Christ – the Savior. Even more, he presented to the mankind the secret and joy of the eternal life.

St. Raimund

He was born in noble family in 1175 near Barcelona. At the age of 20 he became professor at the Barcelona University. At the age of 30 he became lawyer and moralist. In 1219 he became priest and later he joined the newly created Dominican order accepting the Spartan way of life. At the age of 47 he accepted the gospel advice of Jesus and became prophet.
