The first and the second finding of John the Baptist’s head
It is known from the evangelists that the wife of Irod asked for and received the head of John the Baptist. After she received it, she threw John’s head in the junkyard near Irod’s castle. However, some lade named Jovana found the head and buried it in the nearby Olive Forest. The head was later discovered by some man named Inokentij, which was the first finding. Later the head was found again in the fifth century when it was transported first to Halidon and later to Constantinople, today’s Istanbul.
