Skopje, 22 August 2025 (MIA) – According to the Protection and Rescue Directorate, the rain that started before 7 am and continued for just over two hours in the Jasen hunting area contributed to extinguishing the fire, which had been burning for more than ten days.

“Despite the heavier rainfall, smoke is still visible in some areas along the fire line. Once the fog and smoke clear, operations on foot will continue over the hot spots showing signs of burning. This area will also be monitored using drones equipped with thermal cameras. Jasen public enterprise teams will continue patrolling until the fire is confirmed fully extinguished,” the Protection and Rescue Directorate said in a press release.

Citizens are urged to be careful to avoid causing a fire and to report any suspicious activity.
