Q1 GDP up 2.4 percent: statistics

Skopje, 9 June 2022 (MIA) - Gross Domestic Product (GDP) increased by 2.4 percent in the first quarter of 2022, the State Statistical Office said on Thursday.
In this quarter, an increase was recorded in sections: G, H and I - Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles; Transportation and storage; Accommodation and food service activities by 11.2%, M and N - Professional, scientific and technical activities; Administrative and support service activities by 5.9% and B, C, D and E - Mining and quarrying; Manufacturing; Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; Water supply; sewerage, waste management and remediation activities by 2.2%.
Household final consumption, including Non-profit institutions serving households, increased by 12.2% in nominal terms, and its share in the GDP structure was 66.1%.
In the same period, Export of goods and services increased by 18.6% in nominal terms, while Import of goods and services increased by 33.5%.
