Seoul, 29 October 2025 (dpa/MIA) - North Korea has test-fired sea-to-surface cruise missiles into waters off its western coast, state media reported on Wednesday, shortly before US President Donald Trump's visit to South Korea.
The missiles were successfully launched over the Yellow Sea west of the Korean Peninsula on Tuesday, state news agency KCNA said. The South Korean military has not yet commented on Pyongyang's claims.
The test comes as Trump on Wednesday is due to arrive in South Korea, where he is scheduled to meet South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
Trump has repeatedly said he is open to meeting North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The US president plans to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping in the South Korean city of Gyeongju on Thursday on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit to discuss trade issues.
