Moscow, 19 April 2025 (dpa/MIA) - Russian President Vladimir Putin has unilaterally declared a ceasefire in Ukraine over Easter for the first time since he launched his war on the neighbouring country over three years ago, the Kremlin's press service said on Saturday.
The ceasefire will apply on the fronts in Ukraine from Saturday 1500 GMT until 2100 GMT on Monday, the Kremlin said.
The ceasefire will therefore cover Easter Sunday, the height of the Christian calendar, which falls on Sunday this year for all Orthodox and Western Christians.
