Pro-Russian hacker group disrupts websites of Milan's airports
- Hackers have attacked the computer system of the two airports in the northern Italian city of Milan.
Rome, 28 December 2024 (dpa/MIA) - Hackers have attacked the computer system of the two airports in the northern Italian city of Milan.
The websites where take-offs and landings can be followed was no longer accessible on Saturday. The airports' operator said flights themselves continued as normal.
A pro-Russian hacker group calling itself Noname057 claimed responsibility for the attack. In a message on Telegram, the action was called a "well-deserved response for Italy's Russia haters."
The Italian cybercrime protection agency has joined the investigation into the incident.
Milan's two airports – Linate and Malpensa, which was renamed Silvio Berlusconi Airport a few months ago – are among the most important hubs in Italy.
Italy's ANSA news agency reported that several other Italian websites, including the homepage of the foreign ministry, were also affected by hacker attacks.
