Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) - Presidential candidate Stevo Pendarovski voted Wednesday in the first round of the presidential elections.

After voting, Pendarovski said he expects a peaceful election day. 

“I expect a peaceful election day, a peaceful first round. Of course, I expect this to also be the case on May 8 when we will hold the parliamentary elections and the second round of the presidential elections. This is immensely important, not so much for the individual careers of each of us, the candidates, but for the entire country, because a country that is negotiating with the European Union cannot permit itself to organize a bad electoral process,” Pendarovski said.

He said he hopes the vote will be in line with the highest European and international standards.

“I hope that this time as well, like last time, the vote will be held in line with the highest European and international standards,” Pendarovski said.
