Presidential candidate Biljana Vankovska’s statement after voting

Skopje, 24 April 2024 (MIA) — Levica's presidential candidate Biljana Vankovska cast her ballot for President at a polling place in Ian Amos Komensky Elementary in Skopje.

Vankovska said she had gone to school at Ian Amos Komensky Elementary and on its 60th anniversary, she said, she had voted for herself.

"This is a somewhat unusual situation because at the university, when we are running in an election, we go out of the room because it is not right to vote for ourselves," Levica's presidential candidate said.

"This is a different type of battle, however," she said. "This is a political battle in which, by voting, I voice my own belief in what I say, in what I have offered.

"I hope a large number of citizens take this step and come to the polls. That is the first and most important step and we will see what choice they have made tonight.

"I wish for this beautiful, sunny day, as it began, to end peacefully, smoothly, without irregularities, and we will see how the citizens rate me. Here [at the school], the teachers rated me a long time ago," Vankovska said. mr/
