President Siljanovska-Davkova receives credentials of new Algerian Ambassador
- President Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova received Tuesday the credentials of the new ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, based in Bucharest, Abdelmajid Naamoune. His appointment, the President said, is yet another confirmation of the good Macedonian-Algerian relations, based on mutual understanding and respect.
Skopje, 16 December 2025 (MIA) – President Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova received Tuesday the credentials of the new ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, based in Bucharest, Abdelmajid Naamoune. His appointment, the President said, is yet another confirmation of the good Macedonian-Algerian relations, based on mutual understanding and respect.
According to her, Ambassador Naamoune’s dedicated and professional engagement will contribute to enhancing the friendship and partnership at bilateral and multilateral plan.
Emphasising that the two countries have rich history and invaluable cultural heritage, Siljanovska – Davkova said she expected cooperation in culture, education and tourism to be strengthened in international organizations, including the United Nations, her office said.

At the ceremony, Ambassador Naamoune expressed his wish to build new bridges of friendship and mutual understanding, said the press release.
Both the President and the Ambassador voiced concern over the geopolitical challenges facing the countries and nations regardless of their geographical location or size. They underlined the need for multilateralism as an adequate response and mechanism for solving issues.
In a pleasant conversation, Siljanovska – Davkova and Naamoune agreed that the adoption of a legal framework regulating mutual relations and exchange of high-level visits will stimulate cooperation.
They agreed over the need of the United Nations undergoing reforms and the necessity of a woman being named secretary general, stated the press release.
