President Siljanovska-Davkova meets violinist Julian Rachlin ahead of 64th Ohrid Summer Festival opening

Ohrid, 12 July 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova met Friday with the organizers of Ohrid Summer Festival and Lithuanian-born composer and violinist Julian Rachlin who will perform at Friday’s opening of the 64th edition of the festival. 

Welcoming the musician from Lithuania and wishing him a successful performance, President Siljanovska-Davkova was introduced to Rachlin’s long international music career and voiced satisfaction that such an artist will perform alongside the orchestra of the Macedonian Philharmonic at the opening of the festival. 

The President expressed her belief that with the performance, the artists will leave a special mark and a strong impression at the 2024 Ohrid Summer Festival.  

At the meeting, which was also attended by Festival directors Natasha Popovikj and the selectors of the festival’s music program, Bisera Chadlovska and Sanja Arsovska, President Siljanovska-Davkova stressed that Ohrid Summer Festival, as one of the most recognizable and quality cultural events in the broader region, plays a serious part in Macedonian culture and the country’s international affirmation.
