Skopje, 28 September 2025 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, on the occasion of September 28 - International Day of Bosniaks, has extended congratulations to all fellow citizens, members of the Bosniak community.
"This significant holiday is a symbol of the aspiration to affirm the identity, tradition and value system of Bosniaks, as an integral part of the cultural and political space of the Balkans. Undoubtedly, the celebration of this date is a reminder that the life of every community gains full meaning only when it is recognized, respected and valued in society," said Siljanovska-Davkova.
In a modern and democratic state, such as our Republic strives to be, the place of each ethnic community is not marginal, but essential: in the processes of coexistence, civic cohesion and dedicated work for a better future. After all, the true progress of a society is not measured only by economic parameters, but also by the degree of respect and inclusion of all its citizens, regardless of ethnic, religious or cultural affiliation. In this sense, the International Day of Bosniaks is also an opportunity for reflection, to remind ourselves that togetherness is not just a political ideal, but a practical and essential need for stability and harmony in society. This requires mutual trust, sincere dialogue and openness to diversity, values that Macedonian citizens have always had and continue to cherish and develop.
"May today's holiday be an inspiration to continue the common path towards a society of equal opportunities, dignity and chance for all. I wish Bosniaks, but also all fellow citizens, a holiday filled with pride, joy, happiness and positive thoughts," Siljanovska-Davkova said extending congratulations on the International Day of Bosniaks.
