President Siljanovska Davkova meets regional central bank governors

Skopje, 1 October 2024 (MIA) - President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova met Tuesday with National Bank Governor Anita Angelovska Bezhoska, Irena Radović, Governor of Central Bank of Montenegro, and Jasmina Selimović, Governor of Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who participated in the "Central Banks and Central Banking in a Highly Complex World: Demonstrating Commitment and Preserving Credibility" conference, organized by the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia and Reinventing Bretton Woods Committee in Skopje.
Discussions focused on the role of women in leadership positions and prospects for effective management and decision-making, encouraging innovation and productivity, and especially their approach to social issues, through policies that promote equality and education, the President's Office said in a press release.
Interlocutors noted that increasing participation of women in leadership positions is not only a matter of equality, but also a strategic advantage for creating more balanced and advanced economies, and that female leadership is key to fostering inclusive economic and social growth.
President Siljanovska Davkova stressed that women in leadership positions in the finance sector bear a great responsibility, adding they are an example and inspiration for all women who seek their place in society and who want to achieve their professional goals and careers, reads the press release. ssh/ik/
