President Pendarovski meets Visegrad Ambassadors
Skopje, 14 March 2022 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski held a meeting on Monday with the Ambassadors of the Visegrad Group countries, accredited to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Poland, Wojciech Tyciński, of the Czech Republic, Miroslav Toman, of the Slovak Republic, Henrik Markuš, and of Hungary, László István Dux.
President Pendarovski welcomed the continuous cooperation and support by the Visegrad Group countries to North Macedonia’s EU integration process as well as their solidarity and readiness for practical assistance and sharing expert experiences in that process, President’s Office said in a press release.
Given the current geopolitical developments, President Pendarovski noted that unblocking of country’s European integration and the immediate start of EU accession talks are vital for long-term stability and security in the region.
As regard the war in Ukraine, Pendarovski reaffirmed the position that North Macedonia strongly condemns the Russian invasion and according to the possibilities and capacities is ready to provide humanitarian aid to refugee crisis.
They also exchanged views on the possible effects of Russia’s invasion on the wider region in terms of security, as well as the economic consequences and modalities in overcoming the challenges.
The interlocutors expressed readiness to enhance and strengthen cooperation between the Visegrad Group countries and the Western Balkans region, and to enable visibility of funding from the Western Balkans Fund intended for the development and support of our region, the press release reads.
