Skopje, 9 January 2024 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski met Tuesday with Aleksandar Tasevski and Goran Gavrovski of the flight controllers union and voiced support for professionalism in the national air navigation service provider M-NAV.
Pendarovski condemned the recent violent incident in M-NAV, involving employees and other individuals who entered the institution's premises without authorization. He also urged for swift resolution of the case, considering it can potentially represent a threat to the security of international air traffic, the President's Office said in a press release.
It added that the President has reaffirmed his position that personal or political interests cannot outweigh the legal order and the functioning of institutions.
The government will discuss ways to resolve the situation in M-NAV at a session scheduled later today, including the dismissal of the company's management, following the incident in which eight people, including Bekim Neziri, a former government minister, M-NAV executive advisor and DUI branch president, broke into the air traffic control facility and attacked staff on Jan. 4.
