PPO launches investigation against seven persons for street drug sales in Skopje

Skopje, 2 June 2024 (MIA) – The Public Prosecutor's Office (PPO) in Skopje has launched an investigation against seven persons suspected of "unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors" under Article 215, Paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
According to the PPO, two of them are suspected of continued perpetration of the criminal offense, while one is suspected of aiding.
“Since December 2023, coordinated activities involving multiple police units, upon the order of the public prosecutor, have been conducting investigative actions, which resulted in searches at several locations yesterday. Narcotics including cocaine and marijuana, as well as money suspected to be from street drug sales, were discovered among the suspects aged between 28 and 50 years old,” reads the press release.
The public prosecutor submitted a proposal to the pre-trial judge for the imposition of detention measures for three persons, as well as proposals for precautionary measures for three other suspects.
