Skopje, 3 May 2023 (MIA) – Four men have been arrested after police officers found 150 kilos of marijuana worth €400,000, the Ministry of Interior said on Wednesday.

Police officers in Skopje signaled three cars to stop, but one failed to stop, and the driver tries to fled, but he was caught shortly after. During the car inspection, 13 large cardboard boxes containing 102 packages of marijuana were found in the Peugeot Expert car, and the driver of the BMW car was also arrested.

Upon receiving a court order, the police also conducted searches in three locations and car repair service, found and seized 32 packages of marijuana, eight black large travel bags and bags with marijuana, two Romanian passports and four 9 mm caliber bullets, Interior Ministry’s Spokesperson Suzana Pranjikj Taleska said, adding marijuana was believed destined for Turkey.

The arrested men will be charged for unauthorized production and distribution of narcotics, in line with Article 215 of the Criminal Code.
