PM wishes pupils a successful school term, says Government continues to invest in quality education

Skopje, 1 September 2025 (MIA) - To the children and the teachers, these are the years when you learn about two very important values - family and homeland. I am sure that teachers will truly convey the values that first-graders should know about the family and our beautiful Macedonia, something they will learn and practice their entire lives, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Monday.

PM Mickoski and Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska paid a visit to the Kiril Pejchinovikj elementary school in Kisela Voda municipality on the first day of the school term.

"For the first time in maybe seven years, pupils will have their textbooks in front of them. Let me use this opportunity to apologize to parents for talking about a computer for every child 15 years ago, and yet now we are talking about textbooks. I promise you that a new discipline children will get to know - artificial intelligence - will enable them to talk about the future and the challenges it brings," said Mickoski.

He also voiced satisfaction that pupils will also have the textbooks in English, German and French languages available to them as well.

"I would also like to extend my gratitude to the Minister of Education for her efforts over the past 15 months so that we get to this point, but also note the time we will also need to get to the level we aspire," said Mickoski.
