Skopje, 24 November 2025 (MIA) – The resource center for support of the development of municipalities will be promoted Monday at an event in Skopje with all mayors in attendance, the Ministry of Local Self-Government said.

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski, Igor Janushev, the government secretary general, UNDP Resident Representative Armen Grigoryan and Swiss Ambassador Christoph Sommer will deliver opening addresses.

In August, the government at a session passed a report on the beginning of activities for the establishment of a resource center to support the development of municipalities. The municipal support resource center will be designed as an institutional mechanism that provides long-term, sustainable and professional support to municipalities in Macedonia through the provision of specialized services in the areas of administrative management, local/regional strategic development planning, preparation of technical documentation and capital planning, financial planning and management, technical expertise, strengthening inter-municipal cooperation, preparation of project applications, and the use of funds from international sources.
